Melo IX Review

Bought one pair from one of the overprice sport shop in Miri. Was looking for old Melo X but not available. Here are the reviews.

Size: 

I am using my true size UK8 for this shoe. When i am testing the shoe at the shop, they only have UK8 for this shoe. Well, it fit like a glove even i fully laced up. Little room inside the shoe. They gave me some stocking to wear before testing the shoe. 

Padding on the back of the foot, locked the Achilles from moving. Small feature but big impact.

Cushion:

A+. You can feel the cushion on your forefoot the moments you put this on. Heel cushion is also excellent.

 Deep grooves means good

Traction:

Super sticky and comes with "squeky" sound when playing on Asian standard basketball court. No problem for quick guard when cutting or lateral movements. Deep grooves means it is durable for Asian court.

Material:

Upper is REAL leather. Only one use, you can see creasing. Not a problem for me.

I just bought new basketball shoes. I am doing reviews for the shoes. It is hard to find shoes review especially done by Asian for 'asian' court.

Asian court normally made of concrete, road tar or rough surface. It is the best place to test the shoes durability.

Hoops Station is having clearance stocks sale in FB page. Their response to SMS or emails are extremely slow. It took about one week for them replied my sms, fb messages or whatsapps. They asking me to reply to another number. Only then, the process was prompt and more responsive.

Let's start with the review.

Sizing: 

Go up half size. My size is UK8 but prefer to use UK8.5 or one finger gap on my toe. For wide foot, maybe go one size up. On the side it is snug tight.

Update: The toe shape slightly differrent and pointy. It is like like Ektio "anti roll" shoe. I will try to explain with pictures later.

Traction: 

I have not playing in this shoe. Updates are coming. Made from XDR. Extra Durable Rubber. Only available in Asia or some part of EU.(Update: Played in this shoe this evening for one hour. I slipped few times, the court is dusty. Maybe sprained my knee.)

Update: Played few games in these shoes. Superb locked ankle up. Traction is good as Melo 11. As long as wipe the dust. 

Cushion: 

Same as above. I just got the shoe. Not even use it for walking. (Update: My heel hurt after one hour of playing in this shoe. Maybe the cushion needs to break in)
